NURSE PRACTITIONER

Rachel Toyonaga

I received my undergraduate nursing degree from McMaster University and then did some nursing out in Saskatchewan. I was a float nurse and did mostly medicine, surgery, and emergency. When I got enough experience as a RN I came back to do my combined Master’s and Nurse Practitioner’s degree at the University of Western Ontario. Primary care is my home base and I enjoy the variety I get to see there. It will be a fun change to work in a more specific population, and I look forward to building a more specialized knowledge base. I have a cat and two snakes, as well as many plants. In my spare time I enjoy doing fibre arts like knitting, sewing, embroidery, and cross stitch. I go camping every summer and I make sure to go kayaking, hiking, and star gazing while I’m out. I’m excited to start and I look forward to meeting everyone!
